Obituary of Gladys Florence Johnston
Johnston, Gladys Florence “Dolly”… The death of Dolly Johnston, wife of the late Bernard Johnston, occurred at her residence the Carleton Kirk Lodge on February 9, 2007. She was born on June 4, 1912 in London, England to the late Henry and Rosena Wardell. She emigranted in 1913 with her parents and sister Mabel. Her home and family were the center of her life and she was loved by all. She was a former member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church. Dolly was a resident of Saint John for over 94 years. She is survived by her two sons: Melbourne (Donna) and Ronald (Mary Lee) Johnston both of Saint John; three grandchildren Marc (Susan), Stephen (Lorrie) and Lee-Ann (Steve Martin) Johnston; four great grandchildren Kara, Laura, Drew and Demi Johnston and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Dolly was predeceased by her sister Mabel Bean. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visitation on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be held in Brenan’s Chapel on Monday, Feburary 12, 2007 at 11am. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Saint John Chapter of the Parkinson Society or the Alzheimer’s Society of Saint John in person, by phone or via our website: www.brenansfh.com
