Obituary of Dorothy Jean Reid

It is with great sadness that the family of Dorothy Jean Reid, loving wife to Paul Barry, announce her passing on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at her residence. Born in Saint John on March 28, 1955, she was the daughter of Shirley Cashwell and the late Nickolas Cashwell. Dorothy worked for Horizon Health and also owned and operated Eagle Window Cleaning Company after the passing of her father. She loved playing Bingo, dancing and gardening. She always looked forward to vacation trips to hot and sunny destinations but her favourite time of the year was Christmas. She will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her husband and mother, Dorothy will be missed by her daughters, Faye Byers (Robert), Michelle Clements (Paul Saunders); son, Jason Clements (Peggy Gautreau); grandchildren, Nick, Mark and Seth Clements, Hayley and Bobby Byers; nephew, Jonathan Cashwell; step-daughter, Meagan Richardson; step-granddaughter, Madison Richardson as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. Dorothy was predeceased by her first husband, Mark Clements and second husband, Eugene Reid; brother, John Cashwell; grandparents, Clifford and Jean Goguen. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. A Funeral Liturgy will take place on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 12:00 PM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
