Obituary of Angus Alexander McMillan
The family sadly regrets the sudden death of Angus Alexander McMillan of Old Black River Road, Saint John, husband of Sharon (Godsoe) Sears McMillan, which occurred on Sunday, July 22, 2007 at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Born in Saint John on November 14, 1928, he was the son of the late Beverly F. and Blanche E. (Cook) McMillan. Mr. McMillan spent his early years in Bloomfield. He graduated from Sussex High School and attended Acadia University and Dalhousie University, where he graduated with his degree in Pharmacy. He was employed with the Saint John General Hospital, St. Joseph’s Hospital, Abbott Laboratories, K-Mart West and various other Pharmacies throughout the city before his retirement. He enjoyed gardening with his cat, Sammie, and enjoyed playing the guitar, banjo and the fiddle for the seniors at St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was a member of Glenview United Church and the Masonic Lodge where he was an Honorary Life member of the New Brunswick Lodge #22 F & AM. Besides his beloved wife, Sharon, he is survived by two daughters, Diane Haines and her children, Nicholas and Laura and Maxine Walsh and her son Alexander “Alec”, all of Saint John, three step-daughters, Melinda Sears of Winnipeg, MB, Tracey Saunders (Robert) and their sons, Brett and Tyler and Pamela Ptinis (Nicholas), all of Saint John, brother-in-law, Durrell Godsoe (Geraldine) of Saint John, several cousins, his gardening partner, Sammie the cat, and a special family friend, C. E. Butch “Dave” Cogswell. He was predeceased by his first wife, Donna Marie (Harvie) McMillan and son-in-law, David Walsh. A very special thank you to the fantastic staff of Trinity Court at Rocmaura Nursing Home. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 2:15 PM. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the Alzheimer Society of NB, Muscular Dystrophy Association, or Ridgewood Veteran’s Wing Comfort Fund would be appreciated.
