Obituary of Mary Rosalie Shipley
The death of Rosalie “Rose” Shipley, wife of Albert Shipley, of Rothesay, occurred on September 7, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was born on March 2, 1919 in Robertville, NB to the late John and Josephine (Roy) Frenette. Early in her life Rosalie was a seamstress for Gold Crescent, T. Eaton Ltd., then became a loving wife and mother. Rosalie was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and the Catholic Women’s League for over 40 years. She was also a member of the Legion of Mary. Rosalie is survived by six sons: Richard (Ann Marie), Thomas (Nancy) and Michael (Marie) all of Rothesay, NB, Patrick (Theresa) and Peter (Adrienne predeceased) both of Kingston Peninsula and David (Jennifer) of Windsor, NS; one daughter Janice Dugay and Len Riendeau of Rothesay, NB; 21 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Madeline Alpers of Florida and Alma Frenette of Moncton and several nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB 634-7424 with visitation on Sunday from 7-9 pm and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Rothesay, NB on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at 12 noon. Interment in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery. For those who wish, memorials to Rosalie may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. www.brenansfh.com
