Obituary of Merlin G. Lamb
Lamb, Merlin G. … The death of Merlin Gordon Lamb of Saint John, NB, husband of the late Marie (Devine) Lamb, occurred on Thursday, January 18, 2007 at Ridgewood Veterans Wing. Born in Saint John he was a son of the late Gordon and Nancy (Van Horne) Lamb. Merlin was employed with the Saint John Fire Department as a Captain until his retirement. He had served in World War II in the Royal Canadian Navy. Merlin was survived by son, Kerry (Tina Thomas) Lamb of Fredericton, NB; daughter, Heather Marie (Gerald) Leavitt of Saint John, NB; brother, Maynard W. Lamb; sister, Margaret Waddell; grandchild, Shakira; several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents he was predeceased by brother, Allison K. Lamb and sister Almeta Gibbs. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (634-7424) with visiting on Saturday and Sunday, January 20 & 21, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 22, 2007 from St. Joachim’s Church at 1:00 pm. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, NB Heart and Stroke Foundation. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a tribute service on Sunday 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
