Liz, Troy and family, I was so very sad to hear about Tim's passing yesterday. I started attending his auctions regularly decades ago and I credit Tim with teaching me a great deal of what I know and appreciate about NB's cultural and artistic heritage - something I have build my whole career around, actually. He became a trusted advisor and over the years I had come to consider him a personal friend as well. It will be hard to imagine Saint John without him. Please know that he will be missed by a great many people near and far and you are in our thoughts at this difficult time.

Because of my friend Tim Isaac, whenever I look at a tcup now, I always pick it up and look on the bottom of it to see if it is a valuable one, maybe an Aynsley china or Paragon lol. I never appreciated really how people in our community give back, until I met Tim. I learned a lot from Tim Isaac. He was a soft spoken gentleman who I will never forget. His kindness touched me. He always had a kind and supportive word to say. He had a dry sense of humour and I loved his whit. The community will not be the same without Tim. He will be sadly missed. I was saddened to hear of Tim's passing this week. I only met him once, but we spoke several times by phone. He was ever so kind, warm and friendly as we chatted about my auction items. He always added some interesting information about these items. My connection is not only as a customer. I am from Saint John and my Father, Hobart Staples taught at SJRH and Saint Malachai from 1950-1967. Tim was likely one of his students and through their mutual love of history, I like to think they made a connection as well. I am sorry for your loss.

So much appreciation and thanks go to Tim Isaac and Liz, with their talented family, and their staff, for nurturing the joy of antique collecting in Canada. So many people, and not just from Canada, followed their auctions and learned from the couple who were masters of a keen eye for fine furniture and antiques--particularly the cabinetmakers of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Their superb documentation of Maritime treasures as part of their auctions leaves a legacy that in itself is remarkable. Onstage Tim as the consummate auctioneer worked long lists of items with his delightful banter and smile that will not soon be forgotten. Nor will his love of history in the provenance and family stories. But we will also remember Tim and Liz, whose interest in helping others through their business, made many lasting friendships. Tim Isaac will be greatly missed. --on behalf of the late Dr. Bill Bensen, the Bensen family

It is the end of an era. I loved going to the auctions, watching Tim entertain and charm while auctioneering. I was looking around my home, and there are reminders of him in every room. I'm sure so many feel the same, that Saint John is going to miss such a humourous, generous, talented man as Tim. He was very valiant in fighting that terrible cancer. I am so sorry you are going through such a sad time. God bless.

Tim Isaac was not only extremely knowledgeable about antiques from the Maritimes, but, he was also a goodwill ambassador for the Province of New Brunswick. As a former client of the Isaac's both Tim and Liz encouraged me to visit their beautiful Province and by setting up visits with local museums and art galleries they encouraged my interest and knowledge of New Brunswick's history and artists. I will never forget Tim. I send my heartfelt sympathy to his family.

Angela and I would like to express our sorrow at Tim's passing. He was a tremendous friend to my mom, Shirley, and I remember learning about election campaigns, and how to run them ( along with Shirley) from Tim. Unfortunately, Angela and I are away and will be unable to join you today for the gathering, but rest assured Tim will be in my thoughts- he was an absolutely wonderful person, and he will be missed by the broad community. Sincerely- Britt Dysart

As clever as compassionate, and as patient as propulsive, Tim was a giant to all who have had the pleasure of his company. Tim always exuded an intuitive aura when you spoke with him, whether in private or among many others; for someone with so many people to talk to, that he always seemed to make every conversation feel distinctly personal speaks to the greatest qualities of his character. His loss is a great one, to his family, to his friends, to our community. Very much love to Troy, Liz, Marney, Jay, Sean, and the rest.

To Troy, Liz and family, my heartfelt, deepest sympathy. Dreams come true wish maker OR wish crusher? Tim Isaac... May favorite words Tim would say "SOLD TO number..." but only if it was me! Over the years of all the TCC auction setup's and sales days it was always so nice to see Tim in his element. HIs stories of the treasure to be presented later on, their history, who would be here to collect, who was calling "from Away". Liz set up ready to go with the cash-out and s smile. Great fun to get a sneak preview before the masses too. Tim was a busy man, so a quick call and a date set and away he would go. Over the years the Hilton benefited with many a choice item for our guest suites or lobbies. Tim was everywhere in Saint John, larger than life, soft spoken, full of knowledge and willing to chat. So often the MC or auctioneer for so many functions held at the Saint John Trade and Convention Centre. Tim would let the excitement of the wish build, working the crowd, no favorite's right, and maybe a bargain or two, for you, if no one else wanted it! It will not be the same now... Tim you will be very missed by us. Ted Asbridge Moncton

I was so sorry to hear about the loss of Mr. Isaac, as I used to call him growing up. Tim and Liz were so good to me as a neighbourhood kid, hiring me to babysit their kids. I dont know if they realize that they actually sparked a long-term appreciation of crystal, and period furniture pieces, when they gave me my first antique as a present as a 16 year old. I still have it! Thank you Tim for the kindness you always showed. I have never forgotten it! My best wishes and condolences to the family. Sincerely, Dr Jocelyn Garland, Kingston ON

I was very sad to hear the news about Tim Isaac. As a child, my parents would leave me with my grandmother whenever we came to Saint John for a visit so that they could stop by Tim's antique store. Later, as an adult I too always stopped by the store whenever I was in Saint John. It has always been a highlight of my trip and part of what I did when I came to Saint John. Tim was so very kind and personable and always took the time to help and just to chat. Please accept my most sincere condolences. Kathleen W. La Forest
