Obituary of Alden Harold Lockhart
Alden Harold Lockhart of Picadilly, formerly of Saint John West, husband of Mary (Keith) Lockhart, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2008 at his residence. Born at Saint John on November 9, 1929, he was a son of the late Harold and Mary (Peters) Lockhart. Alden was an electrician by trade, and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local # 502. He was a member of the Saint John Fish and Game Association, as well as the Sussex Fish and Game Association, and was most content just sitting in the woods. When he lived in Saint John, he attended Our Lady of the Assumption Church. In addition to his wife, Alden is survived by two sons, Michael of Saint John, and Brian (Liette) of Moncton; three daughters, Diana (Stephen Little) of Quispamsis, Margot (Jamie Roode) of Apohaqui, and Sherry (Douglas Painter) of Florenceville; two sisters, Aileen Jefferson of Guelph, Ontario, and Pauline (Gerry Cosgrove) of Saint John; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Alden was predeceased by a brother, Ronald. In keeping with Alden’s wishes, all funeral services will be held privately for the family. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. The funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
