Obituary of Catherine Evelyn Jordan
Jordan, Catherine “Kay” Evelyn … With deep sadness and heavy hearts the family of Catherine “Kay” Evelyn Jordan of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Bruce Joseph Jordan, announces her passing on Monday, March 23, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Indian River, PEI on November 30, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Peter and Evelyn (MacDonald) Hickey. For 26 years Kay was employed at the Red Rose Tea Factory. She enjoyed spending time in Indian River, PEI at their country homestead, her family get-togethers, playing cards, country music, gardening and her canine friend, “Buttons”. She was a member of the RCL Branch # 53 Ladies Auxiliary. Mom will be deeply missed and forever loved by her seven children, Lorraine (David) Gray, Kenneth Jordan, Ronald (Brenda) Jordan, Debbie Jordan, Donna Saulnier, Judith (Steve) Kemp and Joan McKinnon, all of Saint John; seventeen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been predeceased by two sisters, Anna MacDonald and Elizabeth Hickey; and four brothers, John, Joseph, Charles and Sanctenus “Tenus” Hickey, all of PEI. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with Funeral Service on Thursday from Brenan’s Chapel at 1:00 pm. Following the service family and friends are invited to a reception at 6 Pidgeon Terrace. Interment at a later date. Remembrances may be made to the Animal Rescue League, the Alzheimer Society, Romero House or any charity of choice.
