Obituary of Cynthia Annie Ricketts
Ricketts, Cynthia Annie … The death of Cynthia Ricketts of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Albert Ricketts, occurred on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Gaspe Peninsula, QC on July 18, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Angus and Lillian (Paterson) Ascah. Cynthia volunteered for 20 years with the North End Food Bank and also as a Heart Canvasser. She was a member of the Guild of St. Monica, an Altar Server for St. John Baptist & St. Clements (Mission Church) and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Fundy Branch # 68. She is survived by six children, James (Jill) Ricketts of Saint John, Ronald (Irene) Ricketts of Manitoba, Christine (Bob) Galbraith of Saint John, Sheila (Shane) Van Wart of Saint John, Muriel (Bill) Anderson of Saint John and Edward (Cathy) Ricketts of Saint John; two sisters, Irene (Gerald) Hunter of Fredericton, NB and Marjorie (Ernest) Ricketts of Saint John; one sister-in-law, Rita Ascah of Mississauga, ON; sixteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Angus and Lillian Ascah; husband, Albert Ricketts and one brother, Gordon Ascah. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Monday from 7-9 pm and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Legion Service will be held on Tuesday at 7 pm. Funeral Service will be held from St. John Baptist & St. Clements (Mission Church) on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 11:00 am. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances may be made to St. John Baptist & St. Clements (Mission Church) or any charity of the donor’s choice.
