Obituary of Shirley Wright

The death of Shirley Wright of Summerville (Kingston Peninsula), cherished wife of Reginald Wright occurred on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Kennebec Manor. Born on June 15, 1930 in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Robichaud) Rogers. Prior to her retirement, Shirley had a long time working career with Sears, a job she truly enjoyed and where many friendships were made. Shirley enjoyed and was proud of her time spent volunteering with the Kingston Peninsula Ambulance Service. In addition to her husband Reg of 70 years, Shirley is also survived by her children, Linda Adams of Saint John, Joanne Hansen (Joel) of St. Stephen and David Wright (Nichapha) of Thailand; sisters, Catherine Manuel (Cindy) of Saint John and Rose Marie Koula of Montreal; grandchildren, Julie Zaat (Jeff), Laurie Adams, Seth Hansen (Haley), Jacob Hansen (Jennifer), Sean Wright (Meghan), Ryan Wright (Alison) and Amanda Wright (Matt); great-grandchildren, Leigha Adams, Hannah Power-Zaat, Gavin Power, Hayden, Harrison and Sydney Hansen and Fiona Wright. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her brothers, Charles, John "Jack", James and Robert. Shirley's family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the caring staff at Kennebec Manor, who graciously took care of her. The compassion and support shown towards Shirley and her family will never be forgotten. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Thursday, August 23, 2018 from 1:30 – 2:30 PM, which will be immediately followed by the funeral liturgy beginning at 2:30 PM, all from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in St. Bridget’s Cemetery, Chapel Grove. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Kennebec Manor, St. Bridget's Church (Chapel Grove) or the Alzheimer Society of NB.
