Obituary of Dorothy Gladys Bridges

With heavy hearts, but for appreciation for a life well-lived, the family of Dorothy Bridges, wife of the late Roy Bridges, announce her passing on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born March 5, 1924 in St. Martins, she was a daughter of the late John and Vera (McKee) McCue. Being an avid Blue Jays fan, Dot never missed a game. She loved a good game of cribbage or Scrabble, and also loved cooking, flowers, and gardening. Most of all, she loved being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter and great-grandchildren. Dot will be missed by her son, Ron (Kathy); granddaughter, Bev Dallon (Luke); and great-grandchildren: Chloe, Ethan, and Sophie. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents and husband, Dot was predeceased by her sisters, Helen Bradshaw and Lila Marks; and brothers: Eldon, Stewart, Don, and Jim. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held in Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 11 am. A private family interment will take place in Mosher Hill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Quaco Historical and Library Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.brenansfh.com.
