Obituary of Dorothy Eleanor McMillan
McMillan, Dorothy Eleanor– The death of Dorothy Eleanor McMillan of Renforth, NB, wife of the late Harry T. McMillan, occurred on Friday, July 25, 2008 at the Kings Way Care Centre, Quispamsis, NB. Born at Oak Point, NB on May 15, 1910, she was a daughter of the late Lemuel and Bessie (Denton) Hamilton. Dorothy was wonderfully independent, an avid gardener and was the oldest and last surviving member of her family. She was a woman of strong faith and had served as a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in her later years. Nanny to all her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. Survived by two sons, Jack (Mary Lee Dobson) of Saint John and Gordon (Vicki Allen) of Renforth, NB; a daughter, Sandra (Don) Graham of Saint John; five grandchildren, Glenn Graham, Wendy Cummings, Cheri Lumsden, Christopher and Katherine McMillan; fourteen great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two grandsons, Rev. Gordon Graham and John Taylor McMillan; three brothers, Murray, Roy and Ken Hamilton; and three sisters, Audrey Gould, Clara Dean and Florence Whipple. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Monday, July 28, 2008 at 11:30 am. Interment will be in Erb’s Cove Baptist Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the John T. McMillan Jr. Memorial Foundation (Leukemia Foundation) or any charity of the donor’s choice. www.brenansfh.com
