Obituary of Ellen Etta Pearson
The death of Ellen Pearson of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Robert Pearson, occurred on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Charleston, NB on August 18, 1920 she was a daughter of the late George and Alma (McLean) MacDonald. Ellen loved to spend time with her family and also her dog, Teko. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 53. Ellen loved to cook, dance, play darts and travel. After the death of her husband, Robert, her granddaughter Jenny came to live with her, and they took care of each other. A very special thanks and love to her daughter, Starlene and her husband, Kenneth who have been there for Ellen over the past eleven years taking care of her ever need and helping in any way possible. Survived by three sons, Robert (Elsie) of Quispamsis; Kevin (Glenda) and Roger (Debbie) both of Saint John; six daughters, Darlene Bond of Ontario, Starlene (Kenneth) Garland, Rossie Harron, Judith (Mel) Vaughan, Deborah (Joe) McLaughin and Pamela (Jerry) Poole all of Saint John; one brother, Ernest (Wanda) MacDonald of Ontario; three sisters, Leah (Don) Wray of Florida, Shirley (Bud) Brittain and Marcene (Herb) both of Maine; twenty-seven grandchildren, forty-six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her son, Dana; granddaughter, Theresa Garland; three grandsons, Edward Vaughan, Glen Garland and Nathan Fowler; one great-grandson, Bradley Sloetjes; three brothers, Merrill, Charles and Earl; one sister, Marion. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, Saint John, NB (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Royal Canadian Legion Service will be held on Sunday at 7:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Brenans Chapel on Monday, April 27, 2009 at 1:00 pm. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Following the burial there will be a reception at Stella Maris Church. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Lung Association, Canadian Diabetes Association, Humane Society of New Brunswick or any charity of the donor’s choice. www.brenansfh.com
