Obituary of George A. Crawford
Crawford, George A. – The death of George Crawford formerly of Westfield, NB, passed away peacefully at the Carleton Kirk Lodge Nursing Home on Wednesday, July 16, 2008. George was born on September 8, 1918 in Westfield, NB to the late William and Elsie (Patrick) Crawford. He served in the Royal Canadian Army Service Corp from 1939 to 1945. George worked for Canadian Tire retiring as Automotive Manager after 27 years. He is survived by one son: William “Bill” (Julie) of Dartmouth, NS; four grandchildren: Michael Crawford (Kenda), Laura McCulloch (Scott), Nahanni Nagle (Sarah) and Jonathon Nagle (Julie); eight great grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew. Besides his parents, George was predeceased by his loving wife Pauline (Little); daughter, Carolyn J. Nagle; brother, Harold E. Crawford and sister M. Edith Smith. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, July 21, 2008 at 11:30 am. Interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Woodmans Point. For those who wish remembrances made be made to the Carolyn J. (Crawford) Nagle Scholarship Fund (UNB).
