Obituary of Phyllis Elizabeth Morrell
The death of Phyllis E. (Wilson) Morrell of Turnbull Nursing Home, wife of the late George Morrell, occurred Monday, September 1, 2008, at the age of 97. Born in Saint John, NB, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Lucy Etta (Dingee) Wilson. Phyllis was employed with St. Joseph’s Laboratory as a Medical Secretary. She was a former member of Douglas Avenue Christian Church and Main Street Baptist Church; she had 60 years of continued work with CGIT and a charter member of the Martha Sprague Chapter of the Women’s Missionary Society. She was very active in Douglas Avenue Christian Church groups and committees. Phyllis is survived by two sons, Darryl (Lorna) Morrell of Leduc, AL, Wayne (Evelyn) Morrell of Fredericton and Saint John, NB; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by one brother, Cyril and granddaughter, Christine. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (506-634-7424) with visiting on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2008 from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel at 3:00 pm. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to Canadian Sunday School Mission (Sandy Cove Bible Camp).
