Obituary of Arthur Newton McDonald
The death of Arthur Newton McDonald of Saint John occurred on Sunday, October 5, 2008 at the Ridgewood Veteran’s Centre. Born at Barnesville, he was a son of the late Ernest and Gertrude (Steele) MacDonald. Art was a Veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. Following his military service, he returned to the Saint John area, and subsequently worked in the woods and drove truck for Drury’s Transport. Arthur is survived by three sisters, Evelyn MacDonald of Moncton; Iris Foulger of Caledon, Ontario, and Doris Alward (Keith) of Sussex; and by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Thursday at 1:00 PM from Brenan’s Chapel. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
