Obituary of Dorothy Mildred McKillop
Surrounded by her family, the passing of Dot McKillop, wife of the late Gordon W. McKillop, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, May 6, 2009. She was born on December 14, 1920 at Saint John, NB to the late Ernest and Gladys (Kilpatrick) Titus. In her younger years, Dot worked at Red Rose Tea, until she had her three boys, choosing to stay home with them. Dot volunteered for many years as Treasurer and Buyer for the Gift Shop at the General Hospital and later at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was a member of the Douglas Avenue Christian Church. Her spare time was spent gardening, she loved her gardens. Dot is survived by her three sons: Rick (Shawn) and Jim (Joan) both of Quispamsis, NB and Don of Edmonton, AB; two sisters: Shirley Dickson (Don) and Connie Taylor (Wally) both of Saint John, NB; sister in-law, Beatrice Warner (John) of Ontario; eleven grandchildren: Jamie (Susie), Mark (Tracy), Jay (Hilary), Kelly (Bruce), Dayna, Erin (Robin), Sharlene, Natalie (Tim), April (Zan) and Shannon (Graham) and several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Dot was predeceased by a brother Wallace “Wally” Titus. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 11 am. Interment will take place in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation.
