Obituary of Rosina Jane Mears
Mears, Rosina Jane … The death of Rosina Jane Mears of Saint John, NB occurred on Monday, February 23, 2009 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Knutsford, PEI on January 19, 1935, she was a daughter of the late John Wesley and Margaret Ethel (Cain) Silliker. Prior to retirement Rosina had worked as a waitress and later at NB Tel. She enjoyed caring for her family, knitting, soap operas, walks, the news and was a member of the ROAB and Main Street Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, Charles Richard Clayton (Thelma) of Grand Bay, NB; two daughters, Katherine Mary Clayton and Rose Anna Mears, both of Saint John; sister-in-law, Prescilla Silliker; seven grandchildren, Ronald William and Robert James Mears, Angela Suzanne Lynn McAskill, James and Jordan Clayton, Joey and Jennifer Clayton; her husband, Charles Clayton; special friend, Jake Soucy; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Margaret Louise Mears; three brothers, Kenneth Norman Silliker, John Percy Silliker and George Edward Silliker; three sisters, Marjorie Etta Silliker, Anna May Gill and Florence May McIssac. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Main Street Baptist Church on Thursday, February 26, 2009 at 2 pm. Interment will be in Fernhill Cemetery.
