Obituary of Germaine Mary Benoit

Benoit, Germaine Mary – The family of Germaine Mary Benoit of Saint John, NB, wife of the late Albenie Benoit, announces her unexpected passing on Monday, September 22, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Rogersville, NB on November 27, 1927, she was a daughter of the late Aubain and Anna (Arseneault) Despres. Germaine had formerly been employed with the Admiral Beatty Hotel and Marks and Spencer, she was a member of Club Arc en Ciel (Millidgeville) and her enjoyment of cards, bingo and her flowers was only overshadowed by her love for her family and friends. She is survived by two sons, Ronald and Keith (Tammy), both of Saint John; five daughters, Margaret (John) Wright, Muriel Benoit (Jim Dow), Gloria (Jim) McHugh, Theresa (David) Enright, all four of Saint John, and Donna Marie (Wayne) MacFarlane of Dartmouth, NS; six sisters, Emerise “Emily” (William) Tracey of Quispamsis, NB, Aldona (Euclide) Gautreau and Jeanne Darc (Donald) MacDonald, both of Moncton, NB, Alice (Enoil) Ouellette and Aline (Edmond) Gaudet, both of Saint John and Therese (Joseph) Marchand of Louisdale, NS; fourteen grandchildren, Janice, Gisele, Shawn, Lindsay, Brad, Tom, Josh, Scott, Michael, Andrew, Daniel, Shelby Allen, John Junior and Joe Wright; five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424. Visiting on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Joachim’s Church, 603 Loch Lomond Road on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 11 am. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to any charity of choice.
