Obituary of Doris Sylvia Stockford

The death of Doris Sylvia Stockford of Saint John, NB occurred on Monday, December 15, 2008 at the St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Saint John on August 28, 1913, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary Josephine (Roy) Stockford. Doris was a trained musician having studied under well known musicians and serving as organist and choir director at several city churches. Doris was a former member of the Saint John Alliance Church and the Sixty Plus Club at Rothesay Baptist Church. For more than 43 years she had been employed with Barnes Hopkins Printers. She is survived by special friends, Sharon Eldridge of Quispamsis, NB and Frances Steeves of Saint John. Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at 2:30 pm. Interment will be in Fernhill Cemetery.
