Obituary of Joyce A. Galbraith

The death of Joyce A. Galbraith of Saint John, wife of the late John G. Galbraith, occurred on Monday, July 21, 2008, at the Loch Lomond Villa. Born at Tide Head, she was a daughter of the late G. Henry and Theresa (Callaghan) Gerrard. Joyce was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the Canadian Women’s Army Corps. She was a member of the Kennebecasis Branch # 58 of the Royal Canadian Legion, and was also a member of the Ladies Auxillary of the Legion. Joyce is survived by a son, Paul A. Galbraith of Toronto, Ontario; two daughters, Carole Ann of Toronto and Susan Louise of Halifax; a brother, Earl Gerrard of Moncton; two sisters, Isabel Ellsworth of Tide Head and Maxine Price (Murray) of Campbellton; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Joyce was predeceased by a son, David Galbraith; and by two brothers, Allan and Kenneth. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM from the Loch Lomond Villa Chapel. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the Loch Lomond Villa would be appreciated by the family. A Tribute to a Veteran service will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
