Obituary of Eileen Emily Shaw
With heavy hearts, but with appreciation for having such a beautiful person in their lives, the family of Eileen Shaw announce her peaceful passing, which occurred on Monday, September 10, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, surrounded by her children, children-in-law, and sisters. Born June 20, 1951 in Saint John, Eileen was one of four daughters of the late Edward and Aline (Ouellette) Quinlan.
Eileen was known to many as "Mama Shaw". She did everything in kindness and smiled with her whole face. She will be fondly remembered for her delicious cakes and cooking by all. She was an avid yard sale goer with her self-named squad called "The Yard Sale Queens". She volunteered as a program facilitator at the YMCA for children experiencing divorce and trauma. She loved children and always loved to help anyone in need.
Eileen will be missed by her son, Dennis Shaw (Crystal Wright); daughter, Britney Andrews (Morgan); granddaughter, Abigail Eileen Shaw and granddogger, Piper; sisters: Delina Osborne, Pauline Daley (Don), and Bernice Kincade (Stewart); and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Friday, September 14, 2018 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at 10 am from Holy Redeemer Parish, 316 Somerset Street. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to Bobby’s Hospice would be appreciated by the family. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.brenansfh.com.
