Obituary of Rose Louise Church
Church, Rose Louise – The death of Rose Church of Saint John, NB occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Saturday, November 01, 2008. Rose was born in Cody’s, Queen County on March 12, 1925 to the late Mortimer and Daisy (Goggin) Thorne. She was a loving wife and mother. In her spare time, Rose enjoyed writing poems and music. She attended the Halifax School for the Blind where she received her education. Rose also worked at housekeeping for others as well as the East Saint John T.B. Hospital and the Lion’s Club Camp for the Blind at Loch Lomand and Fairvale Camp. She is survived by one son, Kenneth G. Church (Leona) of Saint John; her special friend, Lloyd Ring of Saint John; several nieces; a nephew and a cousin. Besides her parents Rose was predeceased by her husband, George F. Church; two half brothers: Frank and Gordon Powers and one sister, Helen Elizabeth Thorne. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). The funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Chapel on Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at 11:30 am. Interment will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Anagance Ridge, NB. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB.
