Obituary of Harry E. Raynes
Raynes, Harry E. – After a brief illness, Harry Eldon Raynes passed away on December 15, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital, husband of Mary Jane (Whipple) Raynes. Born in Saint John he was a son of the late Arnold and Blanche (Anderson) Raynes. Harry was employed with the City of Saint John as a truck driver and NB Housing as a labourer. He was an avid sports fan. Besides his wife he is survived by four sons, Arnold, Mark (Brenda), Eric “Buzz” (Christine) and Troy; three daughters, Cindy (Ken) Raynes-Griffin, Kelly (Brian) Hurley and Tammy Raynes (David Parker); special friend Donna Burke, one brother, Art Raynes; one sister, Margaret Raynes; thirteen grandchildren, six great-grandsons, several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by one brother, Leonard, two sisters, Rose Seigner and Wanita Robinson. By the request of Harry there will be no funeral home visitation. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 11: 30 am from Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB, (634-7424); a reception will follow at 656 Brunswick Drive in the reception room. Interment will take place at a later date. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. www.brenansfh.com
