Obituary of Joan I. Moore
Moore, Joan I. – The death of Joan Moore formerly of Kennebecasis Dr., Millidgeville, NB, wife of the late Harold Moore, occurred on Monday, July 14, 2008 at the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre in Hampton, NB. Born in Coventry, England, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Ethel West. Joan served in the Women’s Land Army during World War II, married Sgt. Harold Moore in 1943 and immigrated to Canada as a War Bride in 1945. She was a member of the Canadian War Brides Association, the Royal Canadian Legion and St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Saint John, NB. She was a devoted wife and mother and a delightful grandmother; her lovely smile and gentle charm will be greatly missed. She is survived by son, David of Toronto, ON; daughter, Christine (Michael) Keddy of Eastern Passage, NS; grandson, Stephen Keddy of Halifax, NS; brother, Stanley West, several nieces and nephews, all of Coventry. Besides her husband, Harold, she was predeceased by a brother, David of Coventry. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424. At the request of the family there will not be any visiting at the Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 2:30 pm. Remembrances may be made to the Dr. V.A. Snow Centre Inc.
