Obituary of Arnold Odber Sharpe
The death of Arnold Sharpe, husband of Grace Sharpe, formerly of Westmorland Road, occurred at the Kennebec Manor Nursing Home on Thursday, November 20, 2008. He was born on November 19, 1922, in Maple Ridge, NB to the late Edward and Maybell (Mitchell) Sharpe. Arnold was employed as a steel worker for the Saint John Shipyard for 45 years, Ocean Steel for 10 years and the Winterport for 5 years. Arnold was an avid fisherman and golfer. Besides his wife Grace, Arnold is survived by seven sons: Darryl (Rose), David (Karen), Kevin (Michelle) and Wayne (Jennifer) Sharpe, Paul (Karen) Hubbard and Jim and John; two daughters: Debra Sharpe and Donna Sharpe; one sister, Willa Rayner; one brother, Eugene Sharpe; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Arnold was predeceased by his parents; five sisters: Ester Cullinan , Evelene Tadlock, Myrtle Sharpe, Mildred McLean and Madelene Kilpatrick and three brothers: Irvine, Harold and Earl Sharpe. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Chapel on Monday, November 24, 2008 at 1 pm. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick.
