Obituary of Audrey Charlotte McCluskey
Surrounded by her loving family, the passing of Audrey (McLeod) McCluskey occurred at her residence, The Church of St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home, on Friday, April 17, 2009. She was born in Saint John on January 19, 1917 to the late Charles and Lillian Gordon. Audrey was one of the founding members of the Edith Avenue Baptist Church. She and her family enjoyed many summers at the cottage at Belyea's Cove and attended the MacDonald's Point Baptist Church during those summers. She is survived by her son Paul McLeod (Dale) of Hanwell, NB; daughter, Corinne Doucette (Glen) of Rothesay (Wells), NB; step-daughter, Barbara Bird of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren Dale, Cheryl & Pauline, great grandchildren Sarah, Keegan & Brayden; step grandchildren Sabina, Sheldon, Ryan, Adam, Andrew and Patrick. Besides her parents, Audrey was predeceased by her first husband, Rensford McLeod; second husband, Walter McCluskey and brother, Ralph Gordon. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday from 4:00 - 9:00 pm. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at 11:30 am. Interment will follow in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Church of St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home, 130 University Avenue, Saint John, E2K 4K2 or to the charity of the donor's choice.
