Obituary of Dawn Williston Brittain
The death of Dawn Williston Brittain of Rothesay, wife of G. Stewart Brittain, occurred on Wednesday, October 08, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Saint John, she was a daughter of the late William Thomas and Margaret (Sullivan) Ingraham. Dawn resided in Toronto for ten years, but returned to Kingshurst in 1958. She was a member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Rothesay, where she was Past President of the ACW, and was also a Past Deanery President. Besides her grandchildren whom she adored, Dawn’s loves included flowers and gardening, quilting and crafts. She was formerly employed with the CNIB. In addition to her husband of 60 years, Dawn is survived by a son, Jim Brittain (Heather) of Rothesay; two grandchildren, Haley and Allie; and a niece, Beth Brittain. Dawn was predeceased by a sister, Joan Brittain. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM from St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Rothesay. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to St. Paul’s ACW, the Salvation Army, or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
