Obituary of Augustine Bridget Williams
It is with great sadness that the family of Augustine Bridget Williams (nee Landry) announces her passing. Augustine was born in Pokemouche, NB on October 08, 1931 one of 16 children. She was a direct descendent of the original Acadian Settlers. Augustine was a woman of profound faith and for almost 50 years she attended Tuesday night Novena at St. Peters Catholic Church. Her world was her family and her home. She took great pride in her gardens and found great solace in her labors. Augustine is survived by her husband, Charles A. “Dinah” Williams, her daughters, Ethel Wood (Brian) of Woodstock, Ont., Anne Riley (John) of Saint John, her sons, Stephen Williams (Bonnie) of Westfield and Mark Williams (Theresa) of Browns Flats. Grandchildren, Pamela Wood (Jeff), Michelle Kerrigan (Rob), Jennifer Kerrigan, Kimberly Kneeland, Amy, Andrew, Brian and Kevin Williams and their mother Laurie Williams, Rebecca Williams, Jocelyn Williams. Great grandsons Hunter and Tanner. Brothers John Landry of Rexton, Yvon Landry of Pokemouche and Cyril Landry of Caraquet. Sisters Geraldine Edger of British Columbia, Rose Marie Savoie and Edmonde Caissie of Pokemouche. Augustine leaves behind her dear friends Bud and Barb Kierstead, of Morrisdale. Barb’s friendship was a great comfort during Augustine’s lengthy illness. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, Westfield on Monday, January 11, 1 p.m. , with interment to take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Augustine may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital of the Canadian Cancer Society.
