Obituary of Melva Joan Tracey

The death of Melva Joan Tracey of Saint John, wife of Thomas Tracey, occurred on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in St. Stephen, NB, she was a daughter of the late James E. and Isabel A. (Carruthers) Hobbs. Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Linda Dawn Tracey of Calgary, AB; sons, Thomas William Tracey (Tracey Warren) of Hamilton, ON and Michael Allan Tracey (Kim) of Ohio; sisters, Pearl Cheney of Pennfield Ridge, NB, and Jean Marie Marks of Saint John; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Melva was predeceased by her brothers, Malcolm and Basil Hobbs and her sister, Rena Hobbs. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424), with visiting on Saturday from 7 – 9 pm and Sunday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, February 8, 2010 from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception at 12:05 pm. Interment to take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
