Obituary of Eileen Mary Russell
Eileen Mary Russell, formerly of Saint John, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 10, 2011 at the Fundy Nursing Home. Born at Chatham Head on September 27, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Bernard and Mary (LaPlante) Russell. Eileen moved to Saint John at a young age, and worked at the Admiral Beatty Hotel and the Paradise and Revere Restaurants. She then worked at Red Rose Tea, where she eventually became a Supervisor, and worked there for over 25 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, and enjoyed playing bingo, cross-stitching, and reading. Eileen is survived by a brother, Roy Russell of Calgary, Alberta; nephews Tom Miller (Joyce) of Beaver Harbour, Donnie Miller (Diane) of Saint John, and Russell Miller of Saint John; a special niece, Karen Tracy (Scott) of Beaver Harbour; a special nephew, Brian Miller (Kelly) of Beaver Harbour; as well as several other nieces and nephews. Eileen was predeceased by sisters Kathleen Miller, Minnie LeGresley, and Arthmese Richardson; and by brothers Alfred, Richard, and Simon Russell. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Holy Trinity Church, Rockland Road, on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 12:00 Noon. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
