Obituary of Phillip Wayne Pursey
Phillip Wayne Pursey of Quispamsis, husband of Sharon (Brookins) Pursey, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Saint John on June 19, 1957, he was a son of Robert “Bob” and Alice (Wright) Pursey, and loving father of Vanessa and Justin. Phillip was employed as a mechanic at Centennial Pontiac. Phillip enjoyed being with his family, watching Nascar, gardening, and being outdoors. Phillip is survived by his wife, Sharon; two children, Justin Pursey of Saint John and Vanessa Pursey at home; his parents, Bob and Alice Pursey of Saint John; brothers and sisters Pauline Estey (Kevin) of Bains Corner, Pam Burhoe (Ian) of Hampton, Rob Pursey (Deanna) of Hampton, Jamie Pursey (Tina) of Hampton, and Mark Pursey of Kingston; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday, January 24, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from the Church of St. John Baptist (Mission Church) and St. Clement, 815 Millidge Avenue, Saint John, on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
