Obituary of Margaret Mary Sheehan
Margaret Mary Sheehan, formerly of Saint John, wife of the late Humphrey R. Sheehan, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the Kenneth Spencer Memorial Nursing Home in Moncton, in her 102nd year. Born in Saint John on May 5, 1910, she was a daughter of the late Dennis and Margaret (Whelly) Gallivan. Margaret was a graduate of St. Vincent’s High School, Mount Carmel Academy, and St. Francis Xavier University. She was a long time member of Holy Trinity Parish and was active in the Catholic Women’s League as well. She also served with the Canadian University Service Overseas (CUSO) in Kenya, Africa for five years. Margaret will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Denis Sheehan (Nancy), Dr. Natalie Sheehan (Chris Strugnell) both of Moncton, Brigitte King (Tom) of Greenville, SC, Micheal Foote (Josee) of Ottawa, On, Kathleen De Sousa (Jeremy Artus) of Burlington, On, Paul Krieser (Virgina) of Vancouver, BC and Mark Krieser of Montreal,QC, great grandchildren Jonathan, Nicholas, Ethan, Claire, Emma, Sydney, Corinna, Mathew and Ryan, a daughter-in-law, Diana Sheehan of Moncton. She also leaves an adopted son Anthony J. Sheehan (Pam) of Holderville, NB and their sons John, Christopher and Derek, a foster son Thomas Krieser (Linda) of Naples, Florida and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Margaret was predeceased by a son, Humphrey D "Hank" Sheehan in 1981. Although there will be no visiting, relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 12:00 Noon from Holy Trinity Church, Rockland Road, Saint John. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. The funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
