Obituary of Winnifred Myrtle McQuade
Surrounded by her family, the death of Winnifred McQuade, wife of the late Loomis McQuade, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, April 3, 2011. She was born on November 20, 1933 at Hibernia, NB to the late Thomas and Ida (Wilson) Pevlin. Winnie was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother; she devoted her life to her family. She was a member of Kingston Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, and served on various Boards and Committees for many years. She was also a member of the Women’s Missionary Society and a leader for the AWANA Group for over 25 years. Winnie loved nature and was avid gardener. Her door was always open providing help and support to family and friends. She is survived by a daughter, Wanda Bonney (Mont) of Kingston; son, Glendon McQuade of Kingston; five grandchildren: Stacy Bonney, Erica Martin (Greg), Jeffrey, Emma, and Eric McQuade; great grandson, Devven; brother-in-law, John "Jack" McQuade; brother, Hazen Pevlin and several nieces, nephews and friends. Besides her husband and parents, Winnie was predeceased by a brother, Charles and four sisters: Gladys, Vera, Inez, and Marion. She will be missed by all her family and friends especially by her little companion Sally. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Monday from 7-9 PM and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.. The Funeral Service will be held from Brenan's Chapel on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at 10 AM. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
