Obituary of Jardine Donald Janes
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jardine Donald Janes, which occurred on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on August 20, 1938 in Dipper Harbour, N.B., he was a son of the late Douglas and Janet (MacDonald) Janes.
Jardine was a self-made man. He was heavily involved in the seafood business as he was the owner and operator of Fundy Bay Seafood for many years, where he dealt with many people. You couldn’t go anywhere with him without meeting someone he knew. Dad was known as a hardworking, honest man who loved to tease whoever crossed his path. He will be missed dearly by all that knew him.
Jardine is survived by his loving wife, Linda; sons Todd (Jill), Jeff (Lesley), and Daryn (Bree); sisters Ivy, Isobel, and Marjorie; grandchildren Alicia, Michael, Scott, Mark, Robbie, Rebecca, Mitchell, Luke and Payton; great-grandchildren Londyn and Jase; and sister-in-law Alexis Janes.
Aside from his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Marilyn and brother, Doug.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visitation on Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 PM. A funeral service will take place on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 12:00 PM. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Romero House, the Kidney Foundation of Canada, SPCA, or a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be made at www.BrenansFH.com.
