Obituary of Marie Pauline Kane
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Marie Pauline Kane of Saint John, wife of the late Harold Leslie Kane, which occurred at Rocmaura Nursing Home on Saturday, September 17, 2011. Born in Minto, NB on November 15, 1924, she was a daughter of the late George and Emma (O’Leary) Myles. A graduate of St Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1947, she worked as a staff nurse at the Minto Hospital and St Joseph's Hospital. However, the majority of her nursing career was spent as a private duty nurse, nursing many prominent citizens in Saint John. Marie and Les were actively involved for many years with the Knights of Columbus Chapter 8094. Her summers were spent at her beloved cottage at Grand Lake, NB, where everyone was welcome. Marie is survived by her son, Greg (Deborah) Kane of Prince George, BC; and a sister Joyce McLean of Saint John, NB. Besides her husband, Marie was predeceased by her brothers: Greg, John, Murray and James and sisters: Corinne and Roberta. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday September 22, 2011 from 4-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 11:00 am from St. Pius X Church. For those who wish, remembrances to Rocmaura Nursing Home or Hospice Saint John would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences and remembrances may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com
