Obituary of Florence Elizabeth Ferrar
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Betty Ferrar, wife of the late Sidney Ferrar, which occurred on Wednesday, November 09, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Formerly of the Loch Lomond Villa. Born in Chatham Head, NB on November 7, 1924 she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (Boyle) O’Hearon. Betty retired in 1971 from New System Laundry. She was a member of Seagulls of Market Square, Seniors Bowling League and the Tenants Association of 33 Smythe St. Betty enjoyed the company of her family and friends, as well as bowling, playing cards and bingo, bus trips and word find books. Betty’s favorite pass time was knitting, making her crazy slippers, socks and mitts for family and friends. She was a faithful member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Parish. She is survived by her children, Joseph (Jackie); Edward and Mark (Heather); grandchildren, Deborah Ferrar (Dee); Katie Ferrar (Mark Carpenter); Jennie Ferrar (Andrew Doucette); Michael Flavin; Amanda Flavin; Jacob Ferrar; Erin Ferrar and Mark (Michelle) Comeau; great-grandchildren, Arlene, Cameron and Landen; brother, George (Linda) O’Hearon; one sister, Susan Miller; special nephew, Doug (Connie) MacIntosh and several other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sisters, Margaret Anne; Kay McLeod and Connie Pedersen; brothers, Joseph; William; Raymond and Andre. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Friday, November 11, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 10:30 am from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
