Obituary of Beatrice Elizabeth Martin
Beatrice "Sis" Martin of West Saint John passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, October 19, 2011 with her family by her side. Born February 7, 1933, she was a daughter of the late George "Goodie" and Effie Humphrey. Sis cherished time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and always made sure everyone around her was well fed. Sis is survived by a son, Michael Martin (Julie Gilbert); 3 daughters: Patricia Martin, Linda Smith (Brian Williams), and Karen Richard (Ross); grandchildren: Natasha, Meagan, Mark, Amber, PJ, Shyla, and Luke; many great-grandchildren; brother, Carl Humphrey (Joyce); sister-in-law, Dodie Humphrey; daughter-in-law, Claudine; best friend, Davina Weaver; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Patrick; granddaughter, Annette; son-in-law, David; and several siblings. Visitation will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, 634-7424, on Friday, October 21, 2011 from 2-4 & 7-9. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at 1pm from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel, with a reception at #2 Royal Canadian Legion following the service.
