Obituary of Joan Carol Carle
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Joan Carol Carle, wife of Howard Carle, which occurred on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on September 30, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Ida (Sypher) Brown. She was a member of Park Avenue United Church where she served on the session and choir and also spent many hours volunteering at the church and in the community. Joan was very passionate about music. She was a former member of the Treble Clef Choir and also sang at the Imperial Theater every Fall with Tracy Friars Family and Friends concert. She enjoyed painting, doing crafts and spending her summers at Grand Lake. Joan loved to spend time with her family especially her grandchildren and her Golden Retriever, Jed, who was her pride and joy. She is survived by her loving husband, Howard; two children, Steve (Lori) Carle of Quispamsis and Andrea (Chris) Richard of Saint John; five special grandsons, Brayden, Alexander and Zachary Carle, Justin and Jordan Richard. She is also survived by her twin brother, Kenneth (Eileen) Brown of New Maryland, NB and sister, Janet (Allison) Capson of Saint John; maternal aunt, Orion Green; sister-in-law, Linda (Gerry) Levesque of Dieppe, NB; several nieces and nephews. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Monday, August 1, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2011, at 10:00 am from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to Park Avenue United Church, Bobby’s Hope House, Hospice Saint John or any charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
