Obituary of Gordon E. Tower
Surrounded by his family, the death of Gordon Tower, husband of the late Dona "Joan" (MacFarlane) Tower occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, June 17, 2011. He was born on April 1, 1927 in Sackville, NB to the late Rensforth and Genesta Tower. Gordon graduated from Mount Allison University with a BBA Degree in 1945. He worked for General Electric, Thornes, Union Electric and part-time every Saturday at the Press Club. Gordon coached hockey and baseball in the North End for many years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather; he devoted his life to his family. Gordon is survived by a daughter, Patricia Tower of Saint John; two sons: James (Nancy) of Rainbow Lake, AB and Robert (Victoria) of Brampton, ON; three granddaughters: Carrie (Cory), Amanda and Vanessa and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife; parents; five brothers: Hartley, Stewart, Tommy, Donald and Roy and two sisters: Donna and Maugerite. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan's Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, June 20, 2011 at 12 Noon. Interment will take place in Coles Island Baptist Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to the charity of the donor’s choice.
