Obituary
Obituary of Edward Thomas Walls
It is with great sadness that the family of Edward "Ed" Thomas Walls announces his passing on October 12, 2018 at the age of 89. Ed grew up in Ancaster, Ontario where he met and married his wife Lois (Marshall). Ed was the youngest child of Charles and Dorothy (Bryant) Walls.
Dad will be missed by his children: Janis (Greg), Brenda (Gordie), Jeffery (the late Donna) and Lisa (Billy); 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; sisters: Lavonia "Vone" Oakes and Muriel "Did" Hewitt.
In addition to his parents, Dad was predeceased by his best friend and wife, Lois (Marshall) Walls in 2015 after 60 years of marriage and his loving daughter-in-law, Donna. Ed said goodbye to his sisters: Violet Atkins and Eva Howison and brother William "Bub" Walls before his passing
Dad enjoyed life, his family and golfing, especially when he could bring all three of these together. He taught and teased several of the family members into better scores and the love of the game. He was a member of the hole in one club at Spiritwood Golf Club in Saskatchewan and a past member at Hampton and Westfield Golf courses in New Brunswick. His passion for golf started at the Ancaster Golf and Country Club, now Hamilton Golf and Country, alongside of his Dad and brother in his teenage years.
Ed and Lois could build and fix almost anything. They built several cottages and did woodcrafts in their retirement. At the beginning of his career, Dad worked at National Steel Car in Hamilton, Ontario and then spent the balance of his career at Union Carbide which is now known as PraxAir.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (634-7424). In keeping with Ed’s wishes, a private gathering for family will take place at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be placed at www.BrenansFH.com.
