Obituary of Joan Patricia Bustin
Revised Obituary Surrounded by her loving family, the death of Joan Patricia Bustin of Deer Island, daughter of the late John and Madeline Bustin, occurred on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at her residence. Born on May 14, 1926 in Windsor, Nova Scotia, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Joan had a great passion for life. She appreciated art and enjoyed painting. Being very active, she loved to dance and downhill ski, especially at Poley Mountain where she began her sport. Always happy and contented wherever she was, Joan lived in Florida for 25 years, returning to Deer Island in 2005. Joan is survived by her 5 children: Kenny Bustin of Markdale, ON, Allan Bustin (Lynn) of Saint John, Dianne Bustin of Deer Island, Janice Bustin-Doughty (Robert) of Deer Island,and William Bustin (Maria) of Florida; their step-brother, Matthew Bustin (Lisa) of Rothesay; ten grandchildren: Lisa, Johnny, Willie-Harper, Patrick, Allan, Dinah-Joan and her daughter Alana (17months), Kristina, Jonathan, Kurt, and Naomi; and several great-grandchildren, including Lily, Ella, and Bentlee, who were very close to and loved to paint Grammie’s nails; and her niece, Ruth. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Jack, and her sister, June, as well as her son-in-law, Dianne’s husband Kim Stears. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Saturday, October 29, 2011 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM. The funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Paradise Row Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place at a later date at Maplewood Cemetery in Windsor, NS. For those who wish, remembrances to the Alzheimer Society or to the SPCA-Animal Rescue would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences and remembrances may be placed at www.brenansfh.com.
