Obituary of Olive 'Babe' O'Leary
Olive Marie "Babe" O’Leary of Saint John West, wife of the late James W. O’Leary, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2011 at the Saint John Residential Hospice. Born at Saint John on March 31, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine (Foley) Ramsey. Babe worked at Sears as a sales clerk until her retirement. She was a member of St. Peter’s Parish. Olive "Babe" is survived by her children, Lynn McGuire (Dick) of Saint John, James G. O’Leary (Christine) of Saint John, Jane Comeau of Saint John, and Terry O’Leary of Pittsburg, PA; grandchildren Richard McGuire (Nancy), Traci Surette (Larry), Christopher McGuire, Chelsea McGuire (Jason), Jimmy O’Leary, Jillian Higgins (Andrew), Michael O’Leary, and Andrew O’Leary; six great grandchildren; a brother, Douglas Ramsay of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews. Babe was predeceased by two sisters, Hortense Laskey and Lorraine Murphy. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Sunday from 2-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Peter’s Church, 50 Clarendon Street, Saint John, on Monday, April 18, 2011 at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to Bobby’s Hope House (Saint John Residential Hospice) or to any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
