Obituary of Harold Louis Walsh
Harold L. Walsh of Saint John, husband of the late Alice T. (Pye) Walsh, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on April 5, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on February 2, 1927, he was a son of the late Richard and Mary Jane (Roberts) Walsh. Harold was employed for 32 years at the Lantic Sugar Refinery in Saint John. He was a member of St. Peter’s Parish and earlier, St. Pius Parish for many years, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Harold is survived by his children: Richard (Dawn) of Saint John, Cathy (Byron) of Fredericton, Linda (David) of Saint John, Nancy Jane (Paul) of Moncton, and Marie (Terry) of Saint John; 11 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, Harold was predeceased by a brother, Richard; a sister, Kay Brown; and his half brothers, Frank, John, and Thomas Lifford. Harold will be sadly missed for the life and spirit of fun he brought to all family gatherings. Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Saint John West, on Friday, April 8, 2011 at 12 Noon. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
