Obituary of Betty Forest

With heavy hearts, the family of Betty Forest, wife of the late George Arthur Forest, announce her passing on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Petit Rocher, NB, July 15, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Elmire (Boudreau) Vienneau. Apart from being a wife and mother, Betty will be fondly remembered for making the best omelettes in Saint John for many years at Sonny’s Soda Bar, and then for her favourite boss, Glenn Jardine, at Jonabees Restaurant. Betty is survived by three of her children: Susan Boudreau (Rudolphe), Paul Forest (Diane Durette), and Linda O’Brien (David); daughter-in-law, Sondra Lewis-Forest; grandchildren: Douglas Boudreau, Rachel Boudreau, Lisa Forest, and Lynda Forest; great-grandchildren: Mahika, Naomi, Alex, and Nikki; a sister, Georgette Doiron of Moncton; and many cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Betty was predeceased by her son, Gerry Forest; granddaughter, Tammy Forest; sisters and brother: Lionel Vienneau, Yolande Doiron, and Fernande Hovey. The family would like to extend special thanks to Joan Davis and Sondra Lewis-Forest for their wonderful care, and a very special thanks to Judy Wilkins, Betty’s live in caregiver for the love and care she showed to Betty. Your kindness will never be forgotten. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Although there will be no visitation, the family will be at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 91 Waterloo Street, to greet guests as they arrive, at 11:30 am, prior to the Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 12 noon. For those who wish, remembrances to the Cathedral Restoration and Waterloo Village Revitalization Projects would be appreciated by the family. Please place online condolences and remembrances at www.brenansfh.com.
