Obituary of Margaret Martin Burley
Margaret Martin "Peggy" Burley of Saint John, wife of the late Murray Burley, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Bobby’s Hope House. Born in Kilmaurs, East Ayrshire, Scotland on May 12, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Galbraith. Peggy is survived by her twin daughters, Marilyn MacDonald (Henry McFarlane) of Rothesay, NB and Margaret Schneider (John) of BC; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Sulprizio (Dana), Roxane Streeter (Val), Melissa Gadowsky (Guy), Michael MacDonald, Cail MacDonald, Jillian Chown, Nathan Chown (Leslie) and Melanie Keast (David); fourteen great-grandchildren, August, Annabelle, Brooke, Anna, Kylie, Mac, Magnus, Mia, Jamie, Cayden, Casey, Megan, Aryia, and Griffyn; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents and husband; three brothers, Robert, John (Jack) and Thomas Galbraith; a son, Brian and a grandson, Kyle. A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at 11:00 AM from Greenwood Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances to Bobby’s Hope House would be appreciated by the family. The funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
