Obituary of Richard Ernest Carr
CARR, Richard Ernest (Dick) It is with great sadness that the family of Richard Ernest (Dick) Carr announce his passing on December 15, 2011, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Dick was born in Port Dalhousie, Ontario on October 3, 1930. He was pre-deceased by his wife Elizabeth Lois (MacAulay) Carr, one sister, Leona, one brother, Leon, and one grandson, Christopher Carr. Dick worked at the Saint John Drydock, retiring in 1986. He is survived by one sister, Marilyn (Scotty) Pullar, of Thorold, ON, children Wanda (Freeman) Rogers, Craig (Gail) Carr, Cheryl Carr, Tina (Jim) Jordan, Dawn Carr, and Doreen (Byron) Ackroyed. Dick is also survived by twelve grandchildren; Tabatha, Shawn, Joey, Ryan, DJ, Kyle, Katie, Richard, Christina, Zachary, Abbey and Jordyn, as well as three great-grandchildren; Maya, Taylor and Cayden. In keeping with Dick’s wishes, there will be no visitation, and a private family ceremony will take place at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to the Animal Rescue League, Romero House, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. The funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424). Online condolences may be placed at www.brenansfh.com
