Obituary of Colin McDonald Carter
With sadness we announce that surrounded by his family, Colin Carter passed away on November 20, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Colin is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Edna; son, Terence (Gail); daughters: Elaine (Jacques Leclerc), Kimberley (David Keeling) and Cheryl (Douglas Anderson); 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Linda (Donald Yeo). Colin was born in a farmhouse at McDonald’s Point in 1928 shortly after his late parents, Oswald and Elizabeth Carter emigrated from England. He was the youngest of nine children and the last surviving member of his immediate family. Colin worked for 31 years at International Harvester Co. and retired after 20 years at the Saint John Drydock. At Colin’s request there will be no formal visitation or funeral service. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).
