Obituary of Gary David Mitchell
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Gary Mitchell announce his passing which occurred on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born on March 4, 1946, he was a son to the late Charles and Rita (London) Mitchell.
Gary was a lover of old movies with a very large collection of VHS’s and a vast knowledge of the actors that played in them. Besides movies, he enjoyed watching Golf, wrestling and the animal channel. Gary’s mode of transport was his scooters, he had two and both stayed in his apartment with him. Gary was a proud collector of watches and an even prouder friend of Bill W. His heart was big and he could always be counted on to lend a helping hand.
Gary will be dearly missed by his surviving family members; his uncle Robert (Katie) Mitchell, Aunt Eleanor (Norman) Cassey, sister-in-law Gloria and "sister" Denise, along with several nieces, nephews and members of his extended family.
Besides his parents, Gary is predeceased by his brothers: Ronald, Greg and Charles.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) where visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 6 from 6 PM- 8 PM. A Funeral Liturgy will be held on Wednesday, November 7 at 2:00 PM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, remembrances may be made to Bobby’s Hospice.
