Obituary of Joan Dorothy Hawkins
The death of Joan Dorothy Hawkins of Saint John, NB, wife of the late David A. Hawkins, occurred on Friday, February 18, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Born in Saint John on October 11, 1935 she was a daughter of the late, Lemuel and Bertha (Calvin) Fudge. Joan loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She would look forward to going to the beauty parlor every Thursday with her sister, Audrey. Joan’s family would like to thank the staff of St. Joseph’s Hospital for the compassion, care and tremendous kindness. Joan is survived by her five son’s, Robert (Diane); Donald; Joseph; David and Stephen (Heather) all of Saint John; thirteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Audrey Hanson; Marion Rose and Eleanor Guthorl; one brother, Albert Fudge; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, David and brother, Stanley Fudge. Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A funeral service will be held from Brenan’s Chapel on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at 2:00 PM. Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances may be made to any charity of the donor’s choice.
